Personality: Scinder enjoys being a soldier very much, because he gets to kill things. His mind being occupied mostly with things that he dislikes, he’s generally in a bad mood. Because of this constant bad mood, he tends to focus on things that he enjoys, to cheer him up. Hence the killing things.

Background: Scinder Sr. (under a different given name at the time) spent the better part of his childhood in a sort of training camp for abducted orphans, lead by the crime syndicate Shadow Seekers, turning orphans from innocent children into thieving, fighting machines. After leading a revolution against their leader (still angry at the system that they were forced to escape from), Scinder’s father resorted to a life of thievery, continuing to use the skills that he gained in his childhood along side his wife Fleur, who he had met in the camp. Scinder’s father named himself “Scinder” as a way of separating himself from his former life. After Fleur had her child, named Scinder after his father, she and her husband joined the Ranpurrian army in an attempt to straighten out their lives. Between tours during the Ranpurrian Revolution and its aftermath, Scinder’s parents would come back to him and teach him how to fight as well (after all, they knew no other way of raising a child). He learned the ways of arcana as well as the sword, as his his father was a swordsman and his mother a sorceress. His parents’ seeds of anger and hate started to infect Scinder, and he grew into his late teens knowing little else. Eventually, he joined the army as well because he had no other skill set. He found himself contented in the life of war that he chose for himself, but he was separated from his parents who were the only thing in his life that he loved (despite the fact that they were responsible for teaching him the hate and anger that now drives him). In the army, he learned to use the Ranpurrian Cavalry Saber, despite the fact that he despises mounted combat. Through stubbornness, he learned to use the saber solely on foot, and it is now his preferred weapon for doing what he likes; destruction.
